With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of our loving father, Allan “Mert” Martel. He was born on October 18, 1931 and passed away on February 9, 2022 at 90 years old. Mert is predeceased by the mother of his children, Elaine Theresa Martel, his son Mike Martel and his granddaughter Haley Roth. Mert is survived by his present wife Pat Anderson, his children Lyn (Wayne) Pollard, Karen Martel, Mark Martel, Brian (Christine) Martel, Heather (Gary) Roth and his grandchildren Ryan (Jody), Kyle (Chantell), Chance (Chelsea) and Keisha Pollard, Tyler Roth, Brian Jr. and Jessica Martel along with his great-grandchildren, Mason, Hannah, Riley and Brayden Pollard. Dad loved his family so much. Dad’s favorite pastime was fishing and tinkering with his boat and van. He enjoyed his fishing trips up Lady Evelyn and down at the Old Mission Resort, chatting with his friends. Thank you Carolyn and Dave, and Laurie Damiani for being such good friends. We also wish a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Sears and his staff for the excellent care of our father. There will be no service or funeral at Dad’s request. Instead, cremation will take place at Lakeview Crematorium, Haileybury, and his ashes will be spread in his favorite spots at a later date.
