Obituary for Aurele Adolphe Joseph "Andy" Belanger

Belanger, Aurele "Andy" Adolphe Joseph
1936-2022

With heavy hearts the family announce the death of Aurele "Andy" Belanger at the age of 86 years. Aurele passed away with his loving family by his side at Temiskaming Hospital, Friday, September 30, 2022 following a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Aurele lived most of his life in North Cobalt. He worked for Johnson's Dairy in Haileybury, Temiskaming Lodge and the OPP in Haileybury. Many will remember him as Andy the Milkman. He had been a member of Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur church in earlier years. Aurele was also a strong supporter of Minor Hockey where he coached for many years. He loved his family and spending time at the cottage on Loon Lake. Aurele was an avid and honest card player and many will remember his welcoming ways and boisterous laugh. His greatest joy over the past years was operating the tractor and cleaning people's snow in the winter months.

Predeceased by his parents; his beloved wife Elaine [Church]; his son Jeff and his brothers: Roger and Fernand. Sadly missed by his loving daughter Cindy [Deryl] McKay of North Cobalt. Fondly remembered by his grandchildren: Paul, Kristy [Nick], Ashley [Keith], Amy [Mathieu], Phillip, Elise and James [Keanna]; great-grandchildren: Cortney, Kiana, Landen, Alexis, Aiden, Makayla, Liam, Tia and Tristan. Also survived by his siblings: Madeleine [late Roger] Wall, Yvette [Peter] Fleming, Paulette [late Jimmy] Wall, Peter [Jackie] Belanger, Bernadette [Joe] Johnston and Sylvie Boucher.

The family wishes to give special mention to Steve, Lynn and Jenna Belanger for their personal care and attention to Aurele. Your kindness is greatly appreciated. Special thanks also to Dr. Lawson and her diligent team at Temiskaming Hospital.

Aurele's final care has been entrusted to Buffam Leveille Funeral Home. Interment will take place at the North Cobalt Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Temiskaming Shores and Area Minor Hockey Association [P.O. Box 1423, Temiskaming Shores P0J 1P0] will be gratefully acknowledged. Condolences and tributes may be left at www.buffamleveille.com.
