Grant, Brenda [Johnston] - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a great lady, Brenda Grant died peacefully at Health Sciences North in Sudbury, Ontario on Monday August 17, 2020 at the age of 74 years with her loving husband and her loving children by her side.
Mrs Grant was born in Latchford on April 21, 1946 to the late Louis & Mary Johnston [Lavigne]. She was the loving wife of Roy Grant; loving mother of Richard Niemi [Daphne], Charlene [Mark] Crawford; Wanda [Wendell] Gustavson, Jason Niemi; stepmother to Jodi [Donny] Starkell and to the late Kenneth Grant. Cherished grandmother of Meagan [Scott], Jada [Justin], Riley [Eden], Landen, Amanda, Casey, Andrew [Andrea], Emily [Matt]. Great-grandmother of Nevada, Carter, Avery, Hannah, Hayden, Emma, Amelia, Leah, Alyssah, Emmett. Also surviving are her siblings Anita (late Wilfred) Chretien, Melvin (late Paulette) Johnston, Roger (Lou) Johnston, Bernice (Garry) Hermiston, brother-in-law Allan Keys, sister-in-law Theresa Johnston as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Mrs Grant is predeceased by her parents and by her siblings Glen Johnston and Monica Keys.
Brenda loved her family gatherings and dinners with a good game of Rummoli. She had a passion for flowers, yard sales and good deals. She enjoyed her little critters around her home. In her own words she was the number one fan to the Toronto Blue Jays, old time country music, singing and dancing were also a joy of hers. Brenda was a kind hearted, peaceful person who loved all of her family and had a smile that would light up a room.
In keeping with Mrs Grant's wishes, cremation has taken place at Lakeview crematorium, Haileybury Ontario. Memorial contributions to a charity of your choice will be gratefully acknowledged by the family. Condolences and contributions may be left at www.buffamleveille.com.
