Obituary for Cécile Marguerite McLeod (Robitaille)
1926 - 2023
It is with a heavy and sad heart that we announce the passing of a wonderful woman Cécile McLeod. She left us in the early morning hours of May 12, 2023 at the Temiskaming Lodge.
She was predeceased by her husband Doug, her parents Roméo and Rhéa Robitaille, by her sister Rita and by her brothers Armand and Edouard. She leaves behind her children Denise (Bill), Kenneth (Mary-Ann) and Carole (Gordon). She will be sadly missed by eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Mom was an avid gardener and took great pride in her many flower beds. For many years she enjoyed playing the organ for Sunday Masses at Sainte-Therese Parish; she also sang at numerous weddings and funerals in the Tri-Towns. Her first love of music began at an early age by learning to play piano, teaching herself the accordion and at a later age she took violin lessons. Mom showered her family with love, time and much generosity.
We would like to thank the entire staff at the Temiskaming Lodge for their wonderful care.
The family of the late Cécile McLeod will receive family and friends at Saint Patrick Catholic Church, Cobalt, on Friday May 26, 2023 beginning at 10:00am. The memorial mass will follow at 11:00am. Father Wayne Mills officiating. A reception will follow the mass at the Cobalt Golden Age Club Hall. Inurment will follow at the Haileybury Catholic Cemetery columbarium.
