With heavy hearts the Durling family announces the tragic death of Dawson Durling at the age of 23 years. Dawson died on Monday, August 1, 2022 as the result of a motor vehicle accident.
Dawson was born in New Liskeard on August 21, 1998 to proud parents Len Durling and Chantal Léveillé. Throughout his short life, Dawson loved to play soccer, go fishing and boating with his dad Len. He also enjoyed keeping fit at the gym, being with his friends (even through Xbox games). Dawson had a close relationship with his sister Emma and they would spend countless hours singing together whether it be in the car, the house or wherever. Dawson loved to sing. He was also very proud of his Ford Escape and always kept it pristine and in meticulous condition. He will fondly be remembered by his former co-workers at Chartrands Independent Grocery, Giant Tiger, Extendicare (Sudbury) and by his current co-workers at 3H Manufacturing. Dawson had a profound interest in preserving the environment and would often remind and show those around him how to properly recycle. Dawson had many other hobbies and interests and loved the smell of Momma J's spice cabinet. But his greatest enjoyment was any time spent with his family and friends. Dawson had a heart of gold and always put the need of others before his own. He was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend. His infectious smile will be missed by all those fortunate enough to have known him.
Predeceased by his mother Chantal Léveillé and by his grandfather Leon Léveillé 'Lev', Dawson is survived by his loving parents Len and Julie Durling and sadly missed by his siblings Emma Durling, Matthew Benoit and Lauren Benoit. Also left to mourn is the love of his life Kianna Moore, his grandparents Odette 'Billie' and Warren Durling and by Janet Léveillé, his aunts and uncles: Diane and Tony Desormeaux, Angie and Larry Durling, Kathy and Marty Foley, Julie and Terry Phillips, Lisa and Guy Payette. Also surviving are extended family and friends, his fur babies Levi and Rue and especially the family cat 'Panda' who always found a way to sneak into Dawson's room to find comfort and slept under his bed.
Dawson's family will welcome friends at Riverside Place in New Liskeard for a memorial visitation on Saturday August 20, 2022 from 4:00 - 6:00pm. As an expression of sympathy memorial contribution's may be made to Animal's First, a cause that Dawson felt very strongly about or to a memorial bench and tree coordinated by Dawson's family [contact the funeral home for more details].
