Obituary for Derek Christopher Jobien
With profound sadness the family announces the passing of Derek Jobien of Matachewan First Nation. Derek died at the Temiskaming Hospital on Friday October 28, 2022 at the age of 51 years.
Born on December 1, 1970, Derek is survived by his parents Eleanor 'Chicky' [nee Jobien] Flood and Lorne Flood, his siblings David and his wife Tammy Flood, Darcy Flood and Delta Flood. Derek is the cherished uncle of Tristan, Tanner and Makobe. Also mourning his death is his extended family and Robbie whom Derek mentored like a son. Derek will be remembered for his honesty and friendship to all those fortunate enough to have known him.
A celebration of Derek's life will be held at the Matachewan First Nation Community Centre, on Saturday November 19, 2022 from 10:00am until 7:00pm.
