Donna Dickinson (Hill)
After a short battle with cancer, Donna Mae Dickinson aged 78, passed away on July 28, 2022, at the Temiskaming Hospital with her family by her side. Donna was born on Sept 18, 1943, in Windsor Ontario to Gord and Anna Hill. She married Jim Dickinson on August 5,1961 and had four children, Muriel, Jimmy, Bill and Angela. Donna and Jim spent the remainder of their lives together on the farm, raising their children, entertaining their friends, and in their later years, developed a passion for travel, taking them to many new and exciting destinations.
Donna was a fierce woman – holding fast to her beliefs, defending those she loved and always seeking to experience new adventures and making new friends. She made everyone laugh with her outrageous and exaggerated facial expressions, and her witty personality. She was blessed to have a large group of friends, some long-time friends like her Thornloe Villiage family, her bus driver friends, her travel partners and some new friends found at her recent home on Grant Drive. She cherished all her friends, new and old. The love and support from each and everyone of them, has been more than anyone could hope for.
She loved her entire family, despite their quirks and differences. She worried about them, rooted for them, protected them, forgave them, and always kept on loving them.
Predeceased by her loving husband Jim, Donna is survived by her four children, Muriel Dickinson, Jimmy (Brenda) Dickinson, Bill (Cathy) Dickinson, Angela (Steve) Huppe. Her 10 grandchildren, Kristy, Amanda, Joshua, Josee, Jaycee, Blake, Brady, Bryce, Brooke, and Hunter and her 11, soon to be 12, great grandchildren.
She is also survived by her loving sister Sandra (Al) Leckie, as well as her many cousins, nephews, and nieces.
Donna will be desperately missed by all those she’s left behind. Our hearts are so broken by this unexpected loss. She was one of a kind and to be loved by her was to be truly blessed.
There will be a celebration of life held in her honor at the Huppe residence located at 178088 McLean Road, New Liskeard, Ontario on Sept 3rd from 2pm-5pm.
Contributions in memory of Donna can be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Temiskaming Hospital.
