Obituary for Eugene Philip "Gene" Cozac

Cozac, Eugene Philp “Gene”
1946-2022

With sadness, the Cozac Family announces the death of Eugene Philp Cozac “Gene” at the age of 76 years. Gene passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Friday, August 26, 2022 at Temiskaming Hospital following a brave battle with cancer.

Born at Englehart August 7, 1946 to the late Andri Cozac and the late Alma Lacharity. Gene worked as a trucker for most of his life with Manitoulin Transport and Bumstead Trucking for many years. In his younger days, Gene had worked for Northern Telephone as a computer programmer and with Sherman Mine as a diesel mechanic.

Gene loved his cat Joni, his family and wonderful friends and neighbors. He enjoyed riding his motorcycles on the open road every chance he had. He loved the Bikers Reunion and looked forward to it every year. It was appropriate that he passed away in a bed donated by the Bikers Reunion. Gene was also an avid fisherman and enjoyed going after the big one anytime of the year.

Gene is predeceased by his parents and is survived by his siblings: Ruth [Ron] Searle of Keswick, Donna Cozac of Kirkland Lake, Eleanor [Bryan] DeVries of Charlton and Ivan Cozac of North Bay. Also survived by many nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews.

Gene’s final care is entrusted to Buffam Leveille Funeral Home where cremation will take place at Lakeview Crematorium. Memorial contributions in Gene’s memory may be made to the Community Cancer Care [Bikers Reunion]. Condolences and tributes may be left at www.buffamleveille.com.
