Obituary for Florence Eveline "Girlie" Rouse (Sulphur)

It is with great sadness that the family of Florence “Girlie” Eveline Rouse (nee Sulphur) announce her passing in British Columbia on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at the age of 93. Loving wife of the late Gilbert Rouse. Beloved mother of the late Cheryl Rouse, Bryan (Helene) Rouse, Paul (Brenda) Rouse, Janice (Jean-Yves) Labonte, Bruce Rouse and Cory Rouse. Survived by her grandchildren Heather, Jenny (Matt), Lisa (Stephen), Liane (Ken), Paul, Angela (Zach), Jay (Sophie), Hailey and great grandmother of Levi, Zoe, Skye, Matthius, Hannah, Eli and Nadia. Sadly missed by her sister Peggy Pulchinski. Predeceased by her parents Ida and Vincent Sulphur. Girlie was born on Christmas Eve and her parents placed her as a special gift under the tree. Her siblings found her there Christmas morning and exclaimed ”oh It’s a little girlie”. The name stuck and she was ever after known as Girlie. Girlie had many interests. Her family was her greatest joy. She enjoyed curling, bowling, camping, watching TV and teaching ballroom dancing with Gilbert. She always cherished the lifetime of dances she shared with Gilbert, the love of her life, over the years. Girlie will forever live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a kind person and had a very special soul. A celebration of Girlie’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Buffam Leveille Funeral Home 705-672-3122. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to Community Cancer Care. Online condolences accepted at www.buffamleveille.com
