It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gaston "Gus" Tanguay, who departed this world on October 28, 2023, at the age of 77, surrounded by his family and friends at the New Liskeard Hospital. Gus leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever warm our hearts.
Gus is survived by his loving son, Chad Marshall (mother Debbie), daughter in law Erin and their two children, Beau and Mya Clare Marshall who provided Gus with immeasurable joy and pride. Linda McKnight held a special place in his heart and brought light and happiness into his life. Their companionship was a source of warmth and support to him.
Gus is predeceased by mother Lucienne Tanguay (Eugenie-Trudel) father Exenophat Tanguay, brothers Jacques Tanguay and Richard Tanguay. Gus was also a beloved brother to surviving sister Diane, and brothers Bob (Julie) and Mike (Linda) Tanguay. He shared a strong bond with them throughout his life. He loved his nieces and nephews Sylvie, Julie, Laurent, Renee, Natalie, Normand, Patrick, Ken & Jennifer, Michael, Danielle, Kyle and Justin. Along with many great nieces & nephews
Gus was a long-time golfer at the New Liskeard Golf Course, where he built lasting friendships. He loved to compete and win tournaments throughout Northern Ontario. Gus loved to travel and meet new people. He had many adventures traveling to Florida where he made many friends and memories. Friendships that he treasured and valued his entire life.
Gus also loved the game of hockey and proudly donned the jerseys of the New Liskeard Cubs, KL Tecks and other local old-timers team that gave him much pride.
Gus was known for his kindness and generosity. He had a unique ability to make people laugh and feel at ease, and his presence could brighten even the darkest of days. Gus' charisma and warmth drew people to him, and he formed friendships that lasted a lifetime.
Please join us to celebrate Gus on Saturday November 25, 2023 at 1pm at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, New Liskeard, followed by a reception at the New Liskeard Golf Course.
Rest in peace, Gus. Your spirit will forever be in our hearts, and your memory will continue to bring us joy and inspiration. For those reading this, Gus would want you to go live life to the fullest, take chances, say yes, and be good to each other.
