He worked for Temagami First Nation as Medical Transportation Driver. He volunteered as Emergency First Response on Bear Island. Monty was an amazing man who excelled at whatever he put his mind to and he would never give up on anything. He was a man of many talents, he was the number one log builder on the lake, a gifted carpenter, woodworker and tree feller. He built his own log home and his current home as well as many other buildings and docks on the lake and on Bear Island. He also had many hobbies including drumming, playing and watching hockey, sketching, painting, and photography and loved to photograph the beautiful sunsets as he watched from their home. He had a love for music and played various instruments and he also loved to dance. He was a gifted story teller and loved to spend time with friends and family telling stories and laughing over a few beers or a glass of red wine.

He loved living on Bear Island, Lake Temagami and spent countless days on the lake with his children and grandchildren, teaching them about the land and the lake, fishing and exploring the lake, having shore lunches, hiking, taking the kids tubing, wakeboarding, water skiing, ice fishing and snowmobiling in winter.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Temiskaming District Hospital for their compassion and care.
