Peacefully with his family by his side on July 14 2020, Gerald “Gerry” Kenneth Cote of Coleman Township, embarked on his spirit journey at the age of 65: dear son of the late Laurette Smith, beloved son of Ida and Alphonce Cote, loving husband of Lynn Moore Cote, cherished father of Julian Cote, Joseph (Sally) Cote, Laura Cote and proud grandfather of Haley and Kobie McGregor. His grounded, honest presence and sense of humour is sadly missed by his huge extended family. Gerry will be remembered for his great work ethic and his enjoyment of the great outdoors working on his projects he always had on the go. The family would like to thank Dr. Roedde and the health care providers for the wonderful care and compassion they showed Gerry; it was very much appreciated. Cremation has taken place at Lakeview Crematorium, Haileybury. The family will gather for a celebration of Gerry’s life at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Buffam Leveille Funeral Home, Haileybury, 705-672-3122. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to Cobalt-Coleman Food Bank or Community Cancer Care. My condolences to you and your family Lynn. Although I only met Gerry a few times, I remember him as a quiet and honest man. I wish I had gotten to know him better as I’ve only heard good things about him throughout my life. My thoughts are with you through this difficult time.

This is heartbreaking news. I knew Gerry back in high school, we chummed with the same group of friends. Always a smile on his deepest sympathies to his family.

I’m so very sorry for your loss Lynn. Gerry and I went to grade school together and mom said we were somehow related. As a child he was a quiet, and kept to himself and I wanted to know him better, but he was a boy and I was a girl and it didn’t happen.I thought of you and Gerry every time we drove down Loon Lake road past memere Cote’s old cottage. My thoughts and deepest sympathy are with you and with your family. Jeanne from Calgary
