Gordon Ockley Hutchinson
Known best as Gord, Dad, Poppa
Gord passed at Temiskaming hospital on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 surrounded by family.
Born in Halifax on June 11th 1956, his family moved to Toronto while he was still a child and spent most of his life in Mississauga where he raised his children.
He is predeceased by his mother Joyce Hutchinson (nee Harnett), and his father Gerald Hutchinson.
He is survived by his children, Amy Hutchinson and partner George Smellie, and Becky Hutchinson, his beloved granddaughter Makeala Raven Hutchinson and partner Cody Sears, his great-granddaughter Freya Hutchinson-Sears, his brother William Hutchinson and partner Cathy Maclean, his sister Janice Hutchinson, niece Mei Hutchinson and nephew Daniel Hutchinson. He is also survived by many cousins living across the East Coast and Ontario.
He will always be remembered for his stubborn, determined enigmatic spirit. His granddaughter and great-granddaughter meant the world to him. His last years were spent living with them in Temiskaming and enjoying all the adventures grandchildren provide.
Gordon's final care has been entrusted to the Buffam Leveille Funeral Home. There will be a visitation on Saturday October 29th at the Buffam Leveille Funeral Home from 1:00 - 3:00pm followed by cremation as per his desires. Following visitation we will meet for dinner at the restaurant 28 On the Lake. All are welcome to attend and share stories of his life together.
The family ask that donations be made to the Jays Care Foundation in lieu of flowers. Baseball has been a lifelong passion for Gord and passing that on to further generations would bring him great joy.
