Obituary for Jean Taylor (Ouellette)

It is with sadness, the family announces the peaceful passing of Jean Taylor of New Liskeard at the age of 81 years. Jean passed at the Temiskaming District Hospital on Saturday, December 17, 2022 with her family by her side.

Born October 1, 1941 to the late William and Emérentienne (nee Léveillé) Ouellette.

Jean will be dearly missed by her partner Jerry Shepherdson and his family. Predeceased by her husband Ernie Taylor and her son Delbert Taylor.

Survived by eight sisters; Aline Gabbani (Vince), Lucille Larkin (companion Bob St. Don), Gisèle Belanger (Leo), Patricia Boucher (Joel), Helen Davey (the late James), Marielle Dugas (the late Robert), Denise Martel (Mike) and only brother Dan Ouellette (Nellie Joseph). She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Our hearts are broken as we mourn the loss of our beloved older sister Jean. Her bright light and big heart left us too soon, but we will remember her warmth, love and generosity. She enjoyed her quiet life with her family members and many friends.

She was always there to brighten the lives of others especially her dearest friend Jerry. Missing from her Iife, was her son Delbert, who was always on her mind.

Her days were filled with many passions. She loved the cottage life, catching more fish than Jerry, boating, bird watching, playing cards and dancing at the Temiskaming Home Support events. Most of all she loved to fill her days cooking and listening to music with Jerry.

The family would like to thank the Temiskaming Hospital, doctors and nurses for their exceptional care. In keeping with Jean’s wishes, a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions in Jean’s name can be made at the Buffam Léveillé Funeral Home (www.buffamleveille.com) 705-672-3122 directed to the Temiskaming Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
