Obituary for Julia Freda Gaudaur (Eckensviller)

It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Judy (Julia) Gaudaur. Judy passed away peacefully on Friday, May 13th, at the age of 87 years at the Temiskaming Hospital.

Judy is pre-deceased by her parents, Nick and Hazel Eckensviller and her husband John Gaudaur. Over the years Judy has lost brothers, sisters, sisters-in-law, brothers-in law, nieces, nephews and cousins but too many to mention. Judy leaves behind her loving partner, David MacVeigh. Her only son, Lester Gaudaur, granddaughters Nadine and Natalie. She has 3 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter.

As a young woman, even though she had little education, she always had a job and worked every day very, very hard. Her first place of employment was at the Lakeshore Hotel as a chambermaid, then at the Match Factory where she made matches. She then worked at Eplett’s and N.O.D. on the assembly lines. She babysat for chosen families and retired completely in 1995, after working at Donna’s Catering.

Judy had a heart as big as the world – her door was always open, and you were welcome to a cup of tea or coffee and a cookie or a piece of cake – no matter what time you knocked on the door! If you stayed too long …. well …. she would tell you to get out!! LOL

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place through the Buffam Leveille Funeral Home in Haileybury, Ontario. A Celebration of Life is planned in the summer of 2023.

Judy is no longer suffering from the Lung Cancer. She is pain-free and at peace. Donations may be to the organization of your choice.
Forever in our Hearts!
