Obituary for Lorna Gwen Moore (Woods)
It is with great sorrow that the family of Lorna Moore announce her passing at the age of 63 on Monday, February 6th, 2023 after a short illness.
Lorna was born in Haileybury to Russell and Frances Woods (Conroy), on April 7, 1959. She was the middle child of 5. She is predeceased by her parents, her sister Karen Giroux and her nephew Darrell Woods.
Lorna is survived by her loving husband Danny Moore, her brother Steve (Darlene) Woods, her brother Darren (Cathy) Woods and her sister Wanda (Todd) Bosak. She is also missed by her many in-laws, nieces and nephews, and other family and friends.
As a teenager Lorna was an active participant in the Special Olympics, traveling all over North America and winning many medals and awards for swimming and track and field. Lorna loved the outdoors and enjoyed going for walks with her beloved dogs, camping with family and friends and gardening. She could always be counted on to babysit nieces and nephews and entertain them by making crafts and homemade picture books.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Temiskaming Hospital for their dedication and compassionate care.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place at Lakeview Crematorium, Haileybury. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
