Peacefully at the Temiskaming Lodge on Monday, November 14, 2022, Mariette Simone Goddard (nee Grignon) of Haileybury passed away at the age of 86. Loving wife of the late William Rice and the late Douglas Goddard. Beloved mother of Janet (Sid) Bredin of Vancouver, B.C., William “Bill” (Marianne) Rice of Casey Township, Daniel Rice of Orangeville ON and Cindy Rice of North Bay ON. Survived by her grandchildren Shelly, William, Sarah, Anna, Jessica, Katie and Steven. Dear sister of Frances Grignon, Paul (Jeannette) Grignon, Roger (late Annette) Grignon and sister-in-law Gwen Grignon. Predeceased by her son Paul Eric Rice, her parents Joseph and Albaniei Grignon and siblings Harvey, Johnny, Grump, Alice, Theresa and Jean. Cremation has taken place at Lakeview Crematorium, Haileybury. Arrangements entrusted to Buffam Leveille Funeral Home, 705-672-3122. A celebration of life will take place at a later date at Haileybury Catholic Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to Community Cancer Care.
