It saddens me so very much to hear of Nicholas’ passing. We were good friends but lost touch when he moved to Ottawa. Imagine my surprise one day when he was visiting my future in laws. I ran into my wife one day when she was getting off her school bus and next thing Nicholas ran up and gave me a huge hug. Ironically somehow he had met my mother in law who was going through her own difficult time because my 14 year old future brother in law was terminally ill with a brain tumour. That’s what Nicholas was, all heart and a good friend wherever he was needed most. We had planned to get together the next time I was in Cobalt. Unfortunately I am disabled due to ms and seldom got down to Cobalt and my visits were short. Seldom was I in Cobalt for more than a day. I am torn up inside because Nicholas was that kind of person. He was the kind of friend to anybody who needed him. There is so much more I could share about the Gem of a man that he was. Rest In Peace Nicholas. God called you home too soon for friends like we were to make it so hard to let go. We will meet again this is my promise to you

My heart is heavy with the loss of Nick. He was a huge part of my life in our childhood. I was lucky to cross paths with him at periods throughout my life. Most recently in the Tri Towns when both his and my mom were at the Lodge. Last I saw Nick was a beautiful day when I brought him out to a small family rendez vous at Maiden Lake. Then lunch to catch up. I wish we would have had more. Be at peace Nick xox

I’m so saddened by Nick’s passing. We were childhood friends and classmates at Ste. Therese, and had recently reconnected after many years. My deepest sympathies to Mrs. Bilodeau and her family.
