Obituary for Paul Claude Gauvreau

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paul Gauvreau on September 11, 2022 after a long battle against cancer and many other health challenges. Paul was only 57.

Paul was a dedicated father and grandfather. He treasured his children Sophie (Jason Fauvelle), Zackary (Sarah Schinke) and Wesley (Cassandra Quehe) and embraced every moment spent with them. His most recent role as Pépé to his grandchildren Meadow and Winter Fauvelle and Charlotte Gauvreau brought him tremendous joy. Paul had a vibrant personality with a sense of humor that lit up any room. Everyone who knew him felt his big heart and generous nature.

Predeceased by his father Leo Gauvreau and his sister Jacqueline Labonté (Jacques), he is survived by his mother, Adrienne Gauvreau, his siblings Anita Campbell, Denis Gauvreau (Louise), Carol Lapointe (René), Suzanne Miron (Réjean), Robert Gauvreau (Marie), Patrick Gauvreau and Angèle Beaudry (Roger). He is also survived by his loving life mate of 15 years, Monique Chartrand and his step-children Vanessa and Jason Plante. He will be fondly remembered by his many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

In 1995, Paul established Gauvreau Pumps and Motors Inc., a successful wholesale business, which his son Wesley will continue to manage in his father’s footsteps. Paul was also a long-time member of “Les Chevaliers de Colomb”.

The family would like to thank the ICU teams at the Temiskaming Hospital and Health Sciences North in Sudbury for their compassionate care. We would also like to thank all of our family and friends for their support and prayers during this difficult time.

As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Community Cancer Care.

Friends will be received at Buffam Leveille Funeral Home, 705-672-3122 on Saturday, September 17th from 12:00 pm until the time of the memorial service at 2:00 pm. Cremation to follow at Lakeview Crematorium. Your thoughts and prayers are much appreciated and condolences may be left at www.buffamleveille.com.

Paul was larger than life, his shoes cannot be filled. May he rest in peace.
