Peacefully, on December 11, 2022, at the Temiskaming Lodge, Rita Lillian Goddard (nee Matchett) of North Cobalt passed away at the age of 76. Loving wife of Earl Goddard for 56 years. Cherished mother of Kimberley (Steven) Coutts, Darlene Goddard, Kevin (Chantal) Goddard. Beloved grandmother of Bethany, Jessica (Evan), Alexander, Kristen, Dylan and great grandchildren Khloey, Hazel and grandson-in-law Rob Arbour. Dear sister of Sandy (David) Quehe and Brenda Gough (Michael Matte). Predeceased by her parents Basil and Mabel Matchett, sisters Mary, Betty and Audrey. brothers Pat and Tom. Forever remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Davies and the staff at the Temiskaming Lodge for the wonderful care that was provided to Rita during her stay there. Cremation has taken place at Lakeview Crematorium, Haileybury. A celebration of Rita’s life will be held on Saturday, December 17,2022 from 1-4 pm at The Aviator Inn (formally known as the Scandia Inn) 8170 Hwy 11 on James Lake 15km South of Latchford.
