Peacefully on Monday, July 25, 2022 at Tri Town Extendicare Simone Desmarais (nee Labonté) of Haileybury passed away at the age of 97. Loving wife of the late Lucien “Lou” Desmarais (2006). Beloved mother of Lucille Desmarais (Jean-Marie Girard), Thérèse (Tim) Binkley and Nicole Desmarais (the late Doug Winter). Survived by her grandchildren David, Michelle, Jennifer, Tanya, Natalie, Serge, Nathan, Natasha, Justin and 9 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Marie (Leonard) Roy. Predeceased by her brother Roland Labonté. Friends will be received at Buffam Leveille Funeral Home, Haileybury on Tuesday, August 2nd from 11:00 am until 1:30 pm. A funeral service will be held at Paroisse Ste-Croix in Haileybury at 2:00 pm with interment to follow in Haileybury Catholic Cemetery.
