Obituary for Stanley George Miller
With sadness the family announces the passing of Mr. Stanley Miller formerly of Cobalt at the age of 92 years. Stan died at Extendicare Tri-Town Nursing Home in Haileybury March 02, 2023.
He was born September 25, 1930 in New Liskeard to the late Harry Miller and the late Lillian Martin. Stan and his wife Winn raised their large family on StanWinn farms (north of New Liskeard). With a full house there was always room to take in extras.
Following his farming years Stan worked as an accountant for isolation mining camps in Northern Canada. After his retirement he spent more time enjoying the things he loved such as traveling, fishing, gardening and a good game of pool.
Stan is survived by his loving children Dann (late Gloria) Miller, Sandi (Rene) Lajoie, Harry (Jerry) Miller, John Miller, Evelyn Miller, Michael Miller and Karen Miller. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and his dear friend Reta Willoughby. Stan is predeceased by his parents, his first wife Winnifred (Hill) Miller, his second wife Joyce Miller, his son George Miller and by his siblings Renee Patriquin, Gladys Wilcox, Ethel Giguere, Roy Miller, Albert Miller and Edward Miller.
Stan’s final care has been entrusted to Buffam Leveille Funeral Home (Haileybury). Interment of ashes will be held at a later date at Hanbury Cemetery. As per Dad’s wishes there will be no service. In lieu of flowers donations to the Cobalt Golden Age Club will be gratefully acknowledged. Condolences and contributions may be left at www.buffamleveille.com
