Obituary

Alexander, Thomas Edward - With profound sadness the family announces the passing of Mr Tom Alexander of New Liskeard at the age of 68 years. Tom passed away on Thursday, January 07, 2021 in the comfort of his home with his loving family by his side.

Tom is survived by his wife Jo-Ann, son Robert Alexander, stepchildren, Monty Peddie ( Nikki Allaire) Dan Peddie ( Bea Demarce) Lori Peddie (Denis McNaughton), grandchildren Daxx Peddie, Dawson Peddie (Becca Koch), Austin Peddie, Kallista Gilbert, Nina Alexander, Marc Doyon, Jessy McNaughton and Ruby McNaughton. Also left to mourn is his sister-in-law Yvonne Alexander of Timmins, his brother Cecil Alexander (Diane Gastongauy) of Timmins, his ister Pauline Chornoney of North Bay, his brother Eldon Alexander (and wife Cindy ) of Missinabi, and Nancy Alexander of Red Deer, AB and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Bill and Cecile Alexander, brothers Patrick, George (and wife Claudette), Robert (and wife Sherry) also by his little dog "Face" one of his happiest sidekicks.

Tom was born in Mattagami Heights and lived in Timmins, Merrickville, Toronto, Iron Bridge and had resided in the New Liskeard and surrounding area for the past 33 yrs. Tom lived a full life surrounded by many family, friends and friends to be. He had many hobbies and many were based on the outdoors and being one with nature. He loved to hunt and fish. Those are some of the best times people would have gotten to know and enjoy Tom's comedic nature. He was always cracking a joke and making others laugh. I can remember many times where he would get a little slap on the arm from his wife as she was turning red with laughter.

He was a very quiet man and took a bit to get into his mind and soul. Once you were in with Tom you knew exactly how huge his heart and mind were. He was much more than just a husband, father, grandfather and friend, he was a true human aspects we would all be proud to inherit. If you were to ask for anything and he would do his best to help accommodate.

Tom was a fighter to the end and kept going like nothing was going to stop him or like nothing was wrong. His fighter instincts kept him going and working his whole life. He could fix his home, toys and vehicles himself. Tom was always up to something he would be working his house, his yard or in his workshop.

Tom was a wonderful person who has touched so many in a positive way. Tom wouldn't want anyone to be sad, but to remember the good times and to always remember to be good to one another.

In keeping with Tom's wishes, cremation has taken place at Lakeview crematorium, Haileybury. A Celebration of Life will be held when the COVID-19 restrictions are lifted and the warmer weather has returned. Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of your choice. Tom you have always treated the kids and I like family for 26 years. Matthew I'm sure was your favorite because you use to tease him constantly and even had a pet name Booger for him. I feel so blessed to have come to know and love you and Jo-Ann. Thank you for letting us share in your life. I just know you're up there in a recliner with Face so excited that daddy has come home. Love you Both, Sandy Simms
