His proudest accomplishment in life was his family. Then came his extensive career with the Elk Lake Planing Mill, Liskeard Lumber and Grant Lumber. A certified Industrial Mechanic/Millwright, In 1965 his journey to construct the Elk Lake Planing Mill came to fruition with Morgan Grant and Len Wilson supporting his endeavours. His community spirit never left his beloved Elk Lake where he was not only devoted to the Town itself but all the “Good, good people” he would say. Normand Fiset and I formed a committee and built the Elk Lake Recreation Centre, good people in that Town, it takes volunteers and hard work to form a nice, safe place to live.
In later years, he and Connie moved to Haileybury and he became a fixture at the Coffee Club solving the worlds problems. He enjoyed gardening, wood hobbies and great grand children. Also the annual fishing trip to Pickle Lake with Will and the boys was eagerly awaited with much anticipation. Arrangements entrusted to Buffam Leveille Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place at Lakeveiw Crematorium, Haileybury. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
