Obituary for William Alexander "Bill" McKnight

McKnight, William 'Bill" - It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Bill McKnight at the age of 69 years. Bill died on Saturday January 15, 2022 at Health Sciences North in Sudbury, after a brief illness.

He was born on September 03, 1952 in Haileybury to the late William McKnight and to the late Shirley Seed. Bill was a lifelong Cobalt resident who enjoyed getting together at the many coffee shops from Cobalt to New Liskeard and meeting with his numerous friends. He also enjoyed the countless chats with the transit drivers while traveling the Cobalt to New Liskeard route. Bill always put the needs of others before his own. He was a good friend to many people but to his family Bill was cherished and loved. His presence will be missed by all those who were fortunate enough to have known him.

Bill is survived by his siblings Albert (Lorette) McKnight, Margaret (Vern Shattuck), Dan McKnight, Sandra (Mark O'Brien), Joanne (Mark Snider) and Dorathy (Tony Morin). Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Cremation has taken place at Lakeview crematorium - Haileybury. There will be no visitation or memorial service. A private family celebration will be held at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions in Bill's memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Condolences and contributions may be left at www.buffamleveille.com.

The family would like to sincerely thank Dr Sears as well as the staff of Temiskaming Hospital and Health Sciences North for the wonderful care Bill received. Your assistance and compassion did not go unnoticed.
